ABOUT US:
We provide a fun, engaging learning environment where students are taught to use computational logic, creativity, and collaboration in a self-paced project based setting to build their own video games, websites, robots and makerspace!
Below is a general job description, we are currently looking for:
Instructor for our elementary school Lego/Robotics Program
Instructor for our middle school Robotic and Drone Team
General coding and STEM instructor for 5-30 hours per week for grades K-10th!
We have opportunities available for both part-time instructors (2-4 afternoons a week) and individuals seeking a more substantial role with hours approaching full-time depending on availability and qualifications.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Our Instructor positions require experience working with groups of children and a passion for STEAM education. While coding, robotics, engineering, drone, maker, or technology experience is a plus, we are ultimately looking for enthusiastic individuals who love inspiring kids to explore, create, build, and problem-solve.
The ideal candidate is energetic, reliable, and comfortable leading hands-on activities with children. Whether your background is in coding, robotics, science, engineering, education, camps, or makerspaces, if you enjoy helping kids discover new interests and gain confidence, we'd love to hear from you.
JOB DUTIES:
Most teachers will work with our students (1st-10th graders) to code using our proprietary curriculum.
Directly supervise 2-7 students per class. Classes are 1.5 hours and Club Nights on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Provide support and encouragement when students become frustrated/distracted
Inspire students to take on new projects using more advanced technologies - we love energetic teachers!
Interface with parents during pickup (ex: students’ progress, any breakthroughs, goals for next week).
Build additional lessons and projects that will engage your students in an area that excites you!
REQUIREMENTS
Experience working with groups of kids - ex: after school programs, summer camps, etc. is a must.
Ability to build relationships with students and provide encouragement and fun
Willingness to work evening hours (1:00pm or 3:00pm - 7:00pm), and some Saturdays/Sundays (9am - 4pm).
Occasionally work extra events such as local science fairs in the evenings.
Desire to learn new coding languages/platforms
DESIRED TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE
Do you have experience with any of these platforms/languages (in order of importance!)
MIT Scratch
Robotics - VEX preferred but FIRST transfers
Lego building and programming with Spike
TinkerCAD/ 3D Printing
Graphic design, video production, and digital media creation
Drone competitions, building and repair - help us build a drone team!
App Development and website design
JavaScript
Minecraft
Unity
COMPENSATION
$20 - $26/hr DOE
