Teenager Job Information

We love hiring teens (14+) for our Purple Friday Day Camps and Holiday Camps (Thanksgiving Friday, Winter Break, Spring Break and various 3-day weekend camps). Below please find information on the specific of the job and how to apply (teens under 14 are encouraged to follow the same guidelines to be a CIT which is an unpaid position that often leads to being a counselor).

What does the job entail?

  • Camps generally run 10am-3pm - counselors report to work at 9:30am and are done at approximately 3:15pm.

  • All counselors generally start in the gym playing large group games for the day and are asked to move up to assist in the STEM section of camp based on ability and attitude.

  • Counselors in the gym are generally paid minimum wage and receive a raise when they move to the STEM sections.

  • Directly supervise 3-7 kids per day

What are we looking for?

  • A positive attitude and energy

  • Ability to build relationships with children and provide encouragement and fun

  • Provide support and guidance when students become frustrated/distracted

  • Dependability, flexibility and problem solving attributes

  • Ability to stay engaged with the children the entire day (phones are not allowed except when on break)

  • Knowledge of technology is not required but is a bonus

  • Must be fully vaccinated including booster and show proof upon hiring

  • Availability, although you are not expected to work every camp

  • We highly suggest a bank account for direct deposit
