Community & Events Manager

Help Us Bring STEAM to the Community

Do you love working with people, organizing events, and sharing exciting opportunities with families? We're looking for an enthusiastic, organized, and outgoing Community & Events Manager to help coordinate the Coding and Robotics Club's growing presence throughout our community.

This position is responsible for planning, organizing, staffing, and managing the many events we participate in throughout the year, including science fairs, community festivals, school events, birthday parties, outreach programs, and special STEM activities.

The ideal candidate loves people, enjoys STEM education, and thrives on making things happen behind the scenes. While this role is not a traditional sales position, you will serve as an ambassador for the Club and help families learn about our programs and opportunities.

This position may be combined with a STEM Club Instructor role for candidates seeking additional hours.

  • Approximately 3–10 hours per week

  • Flexible schedule required

  • Hours vary throughout the year based on events and programming

  • Evening and weekend availability required

  • Must be available to attend most major events, though not every event

  • Additional hours may be available through instruction, camps, birthday parties, and special programs

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate community events, science fairs, festivals, school events, and outreach opportunities

  • Plan and organize the Club's participation in events throughout the year

  • Ensure events are appropriately staffed and supported

  • Recruit and coordinate instructors to work events

  • Gather, organize, transport, and maintain event supplies and materials

  • Plan engaging hands-on STEM activities appropriate for each event

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for event organizers

  • Represent the Coding and Robotics Club professionally in the community

  • Help families learn about our programs and offerings

  • Track upcoming opportunities and maintain an annual event calendar

  • Seek out new community partnerships, events, and outreach opportunities

  • Coordinate birthday parties and other special events

  • Take photos and videos at events and provide content ideas, photos, and highlights to our social media team

  • Help identify stories, student projects, and community moments that showcase the Club's impact

  • Follow up on inquiries and opportunities as needed

We're Looking For Someone Who

  • Enjoys STEM, education, robotics, coding, engineering, or makerspace activities

  • Is proactive and takes initiative

  • Can solve problems independently

  • Is comfortable working evenings and weekends when needed

  • Can pass a background check

Bonus Skills (Not Required)

  • Teaching or working with children

  • Marketing or community outreach

  • STEM education

  • Robotics, coding, engineering, or drones

  • Social media and community engagement

  • Photography or content creation

  • Public speaking or presenting

Why You'll Love It

  • Flexible and varied work

  • Opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the community

  • Fun and creative work environment

  • Work with an amazing team of instructors and students

  • Help bring STEM opportunities to thousands of local families

  • Opportunity to grow with a rapidly expanding organization

At the Coding and Robotics Club, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to discover what they can create, build, and become. As our Community & Events Manager, you'll help bring that mission into the community and ensure that every event reflects the energy, creativity, and excitement that make our programs special.

I really like this role because it attracts a completely different type of applicant than your instructors—someone who loves organizing, networking, and making things happen. It sounds like exactly the kind of work that's currently landing on your plate every time someone emails, "Hey, can you bring some robots to our event?" 😄
